BAT Việt Nam tổ chức chuyến thăm vùng trồng lá
The Leaf growing area visit in Gia Lai Province with the attendance of representatives from Ministry Industry and Trade, local authority, and Vinataba is an opportunity for BAT Vietnam to consolidate the partnership between BAT and Vinataba under a joint venture business to greatly contribute to domestic leaf development.
After 20 years of operations with a start of 64 hectares, BAT Vietnam has currently expanded the growing area to 3,000 hectares with 7 thousand tons of high-quality tobacco in crop 2024.
During this period of time, the company has been shared and applied several agricultural practices to Vietnam, including: hybrid seeds with a high disease resistance, healthy seedling production, correct fertilizer formula, improved plant population, topping drip irrigation system, and curing barn improvement.
Those practices not only help to upgrade our local leaf quality but greatly contribute to enhance farmers’ livelihoods, one of the key focuses of BAT Vietnam to create positive social impact.
All efforts are underpinned by the close collaboration and continuous support of BAT Vietnam’s strategic partner Vinataba and local leaf suppliers. In addition, it also drives BAT Leaf ESG strategies and activities, namely carbon neutrality, water stewardship, and waste management, and enables us to realise our ambition of reaching 100% tobacco drying fuel proven sustainable through providing traceability by investors and farmers by 2025.
