BAT Việt Nam tiếp tục đồng hành cùng phụ nữ khó khăn thông qua chương trình “Trao quyền cho phụ nữ”
In March 2022, BAT Vietnam and the Women's Union of Duc Hue District, Long An disbursed a sponsoring loan for the project "Empowering women" with a capital of 400 million VND provided by BAT Vietnam.
The program is implemented in two villages, My Quy Dong and My Thanh Tay, with a total of 40 households in the area participated in a 10 million VND loan to each household, along with a plan of breeding, farming, and economic development.

Through the program, disadvantaged women are provided the opportunity to get an unsecured loan of an appropriate amount to expand their small family business or invest in existing livestock and farming. Women who do not have stable jobs can borrow money and invest in a suitable business model, helping to improve their income hence, the family finances.
In addition to the unsecured loans of interest-free capital, along with the cooperation with local management units, the women who borrow money are also supported by the program with the knowledge to start and maintained a business. They are connected to each other to support each other in the production, promotion, and sale of products, creating circulation and consumption right in the program.
Beneficiaries are signing up for the unsecured loan from BAT’s Women Empowerment program at My Thanh Tay village.
In addition, the Women’s Union units in communes have coordinated with the local police and the border guard to prevent illegal border crossings and smuggling of cigarettes and goods and train the beneficiaries in managing the loans to the capital of 100% of households.
