Global Graduate in Human Resource 2017
“BAT is more than a place to work, it’s a promise to keep.”
I was an applicant to BAT Management Trainee Program in 2016. Having passed the round of Assessment Center, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep and I were two finalists for Human Resources function. Unfortunately, that was not the ripe time for me since there was only one available headcount in Human Resource department.
I took a flight back to Ha Noi with a promise from BAT’s HRBP: “We a are very sorry that we can’t make it to hire you as our Management Trainee this time. However, we have all clearly witnessed your talent and potential. I promise that when we have a deserving position, you will be the first one coming up to our mind.”
It was truly out of my expectation when BAT approached me after 6 months and offered me a job as they promised. During 1 year working at BAT, I have been empowered to take ownership and leadership of huge projects which positively encourage and push me to move forward day by day.
People here trust me, give me space to grow and take care of my career development with their supportive and dedicated guidelines. That’s when I realize that I have made a right decision to be a part of BAT. Time flies and hard work paid off when I finally won an official Management Trainee position of BAT Global Graduate Program 2017. It is now the start of a new journey. I would not expect it to be easy of course, but I bet it will definitely be worth it. So, for me, BAT is more than a place to work, it’s a promise to keep.
