In 2001, BAT established a joint-venture with Vinataba (Vietnam Tobacco Corporation) to process cut rag in a state-of-the-art facility in Dong Nai with the investment up to 65 million US dollars. This is our long term commitment in contributing for the development of the tobacco industry and the economy of Vietnam. This joint-venture is one of the most modern factories of BAT in the world.
Also in 2001, the representative office of BAT Marketing Singapore was established in Ho Chi Minh City in order to conduct market research activities as well as to connect with local businesses in Vietnam creating employment for thousands of people directly and indirectly.
In 2014, BAT formed the second partnership with Vinataba to establish a joint venture to produce cigarette in Vinh Loc Industrial Site. With this new joint venture, BAT ensures its leading position in the tobacco industry in Vietnam.
